Merry Christmas! I know it is the middle of January already (!!), but since we just took our tree and decorations down this weekend*, it has still been Christmastime around here :)
*Technically, we still have a decorative swag hanging on our porch. It might come down today.
We began preparing our hearts and home for Christmas long before December 25. Geneva began learning about Jesus' birth and we began our bow making in November. The girls visited with at least 4 different "Santas Helpers." (Geneva was the one to inform us that these were NOT the real deal- I'm sure a big topic of conversation around the coloring tables at school.) Our first year staying at home for Christmas and Geneva getting to experience waking up on Christmas morning in her own home made for a special holiday for our family. We were blessed to have some family visit us as well. Both of Greg's sisters came. Bethany for Christmas and Mary Catherine for New Year's. My parents and brother Nate also came for Christmas. Additionally, Tracy and his wife's family were also part of our Christmas celebrations.
Cecily did well in her meetings with Santa. There was often some hair pulling involved, but never any tears.
Geneva began wearing her Christmas dress around the house in October. She would often appear in full tights and shoes as well. She really loved getting to help decorate the tree this year.
Aunt Bethany came to spend Christmas with us. She and Geneva enjoyed making Gingerbread houses and some Christmas cookies!
Gram, Gramps, and uncle Nate arrived the night before Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Eve, we hosted the Feast of Seven Fishes, a traditional Italian meal. Nate was a little surprised by the Lobsters.

Aunt CC and Uncle Trae got Geneva this frilly, girly, Christmas nightgown. You don't think she liked it, do you?
Here is the Gingerbread village along with Geneva's note, cookies, and milk for Santa. (if you look closely enough, you might see candy corn pieces on the cookies)
The next day, she found that Santa had written her back and eaten most of the cookies!

A few days after Christmas, Aunt Mary Catherine came for a visit! (Notice Geneva is still wearing her Christmas dress.)
Happy New Year 2013!!
