17 Weeks; A third of a year; 4 Months! Our sweet girl has grown so much!
Here are some updates:
Sleeping: Geneva is still sleeping through the night: from about 10 or 10:30 to 6:30am when I wake her up in the morning. She is still taking several short naps over the course of the day (basically during each “feeding cycle”) The biggest change here is that she no longer wants/needs to be swaddled tightly to sleep. One day a few weeks ago, she was just done. Instead, she likes her blanket loosely on top of/around her, usually with her arms sticking out the top. This morning at 4:30 she woke up crying b/c it had come off of her completely and after I put it back on her she went right back to sleep. At nap time, we lie her down awake with her blanket and she cries for 0-3 minutes and then goes to sleep on her own. We still keep a fan on her and often use “white noise” in the background. People often comment how they can’t believe how easy she is to put to bed and we are very proud of our good little sleeper.
Eating: Geneva is still eating all breastmilk 6 or 7 times a day. We will likely try her with cereal soon (after we get the doctor’s ok). She is a chubby darling and sometimes she just seems like she wants more. I certainly don’t worry about her eating/appetite.
Socially/Communicatively: Geneva looks with eye contact when someone talks to her. She responds to smiles with smiling back. She often coos and babbles, sometimes like a conversation exchange.
Developmentally: On her tummy, Geneva pushes up until her arms are straight with her chest in the air and is starting to kick her legs around at the same time. She has rolled over from this position onto her back at least 10 times. When in the right position, Geneva can sit up without support for about 4 seconds before falling to the side. She is loving her toys now and often shakes or puts them into her mouth. She is also loving her exersaucer and jumper. She has been working on some teeth for sometime now and often puts her fingers or toys into her mouth. She drools a lot when she does this. Sometimes they seem to really bother her and she’ll get a little cranky.
I’ll post pictures tonight :)
