Birthdays, Mother’s Day, family visits, and a wedding- What a wonderful month!
Here, I’ll post a few pictures and then the wedding will get its own post (see above).
Early in the month, we took Geneva with us boot shopping. Every good Texan needs a pair of boots, and Greg and I decided to join the ranks (after 6-7 years!) since we had a rodeo-style event to go to. Geneva tried on boots along with us, but she had a pair of red ones at home that I had picked up for her at an antique store a few months ago. At the house, the three of us practiced our two-stepping before Greg and I headed out on our “date”.
Here are a few more birthday shots. “Uncle Trae Trae” met us at a restaurant and was waiting with colorful bags containing presents. If he was trying to win me over before introducing my daughter to a disgustingly sweet and unhealthy condiment known as ketchup (which unfortunately, she loved), it worked.
The same week as her birthday, her daycare hosted its own birthday/anniversary party, complete with face painting, obstacle courses, crafts, and games. G waited like an angel in anticipation of getting her face painted and enjoyed participating in the activities and crafts ran by her teachers. Have I mentioned that I LOVE LOVE LOVE her daycare???!!!
This is the only Mother’s Day picture I got but it is a good reminder of our wonderful friends. We spent all day with these two families and it was a lovely way to celebrate family and motherhood.
Greg’s two sisters came to visit one weekend. They came from Kansas and Wisconsin. It is always wonderful to see them but Geneva was especially elated to have her two doting aunts at her side for the weekend.
They went to a baseball game and poor Mary Catherine had to recover from her Texas sunburn after so many months of the Wisconsin winter.
Feeding the chickens was fun too.
We had a little celebration dinner and cake to celebrate Greg’s birthday. How special to have his sisters and my brother and *new* sister-in-law.
Yesterday, Geneva got to have her friend Sophia over to swim and play inside. It was a great way to spend the 100 degree day. The girls were adorable, singing songs and then announcing “TA DA!!” Even better- Sophia and her sweet mom are moving behind us on the next street over. Our house numbers are even the same :)
