Weekend Update

We had a nice weekend in town and around the house.  Friday night we went to dinner with Grandpa and his wife.  Geneva wore a party dress and was quiet and engaging.  Here is a picture of she and I afterward.

Saturday we went to the farm and Farmer’s Market and I picked Kale and Spinach for the week.  We went to church Saturday evening and then out to dinner with our friends who were also at church.  At dinner, both the babies ate their own food before we ate ours.  This is the first time we’ve fed Geneva at a restaurant and despite her being distracted by her friend, she did very well.

Sunday we went over to meet another friend-to-be of Geneva’s—Kylie, who is the newborn of friends of ours.  Kylie is itty bitty compared to Geneva- at 5lbs 6oz.  Again, Geneva won over the grandparent in the house (same scenario occurred two weeks ago while meeting another friend’s baby boy).  Geneva of course looks forward to grabbing at her and putting her toys in her mouth.

Later Sunday, Greg fed Geneva a new food . . .sweet potatoes!  Geneva went crazy for them, opening her mouth wide and taking in HUGE spoonfuls.  If she didn’t get the next bite quickly enough she would fuss and holler.  Eventually she started to ram her dirty bib in her mouth between bites to ensure the delicious food never left her taste buds.  When all was said and done she had devoured two whole cubes of potatoes.  Sweet potatoes were a huge hit!

Look at those chubba cheeks!

In other news, Greg’s sister booked a plane ticket to come and see us in January.  Her first time to Texas, yay!!
