It may be hard to believe since we live in West Texas, but there is literally an inch of snow on the ground!! Of course, with any winter weather here comes a snow day :) Now, you might think this is ludicrous but when you consider how small our ice/road budget is and that in every weather event there are numerous accidents and at least one death, it makes good sense. We just don’t plan for it and no one here knows how to drive in it.
While the cold weather and icy road conditions are anything but good for the people out on the drilling rigs and who have to travel on the roads for their jobs, I am grateful for my day at home- away from the feeling like I am ‘snowed under’ at work. Even though we’ll have to make this day up during spring break (!) it is a timely event that comes just after a major stress-induced meltdown that I had just last night. Even though I’ll be working on reports during Geneva’s naps, I’m so happy to have the time with Geneva and still time to do things around the house and work on reports- all the while feeling like I’m getting things done instead of falling behind by the minute.
The Lord is good, our blessings are many, and today is just what I needed.
I hope everyone is staying warm and has a great weekend!
