Cecily's 1st Birthday!

Our little baby girl turned ONE! On Cecily's birthday, we had so much to celebrate! I had told myself that I wanted to have a small, laid back birthday party to mark the occasion, but I honestly think I felt like it was such a joyous milestone that I couldn't help myself from inviting lots of people and cooking lots of food.  My mom and brother were here for the party and I definitely benefitted from having help from the family.  Nate probably said it best when he said that I was about 10% prepared for the party because I had at least bought all the supplies.  I can't help it- 1st birthday parties tend to be a big deal around here.  We were so blessed by the many friends and family who came over to help us celebrate our little Cecily.

One of my pet peeves is when flies get on food.  I went to the fabric store and bought inexpensive nylon netting and kept it over the food table.  I will always do this in the future.  It was so easy and effective.

Cecily was getting impatient for her cake.  It wouldn't be a good party if the birthday party didn't cry a little.

I am just always amazed at what a difference a year makes in a child's life.  We are so thankful for our sweet little girl.  Adding her to our family has strengthened us and added so much joy to our lives.
