In between all the delightful birthday and holiday celebrations, we were also pretty active with the kiddos this summer. We swam A LOT! It was a really high priority for Geneva to learn to swim this summer and SHE DID IT! She can swim! :) Head under water, using her arms and kicking her legs swimming. She is a little afraid of the water, but we know she will get used to it and then get a lot stronger at it. We swam almost every day in June and most of July, before we had 70 degree highs and then left to visit family in August. Additionally, I took a summer class- Chemistry- that was condensed into 5 weeks. I LOVED it but it made for long days. Thankfully, my 18 year old brother came and spent 3 weeks with us and took care of the girls while I was in class. He was AMAZING! I wish that anyone who doubts the quality of the youth today could have seen how patient and kind this young man was with his nieces. It sums up the experience perfectly when one night, Geneva tried to get his attention by saying, "Hey mom, I mean, uncle Natey.." That's how close they were. What a wonderful gift to have gotten that time with him!!
Cousin time in the baby pool
The girls have some similar interests now! Cecily loves exploring (taking everything out of) the pretend kitchen cabinets.
In fact, she really just loves Geneva's room- so much to explore.
Cecily enjoyed the dress-up box at the Children's museum
Here she is exploring Geneva's closet
Sweet times with uncle Natey
Geneva sure loves her Gram
Cardinal's Fan!! (Sorry KC people, but I am the one writing the blog)
We took a nature walk and uncle Natey took a hundred pictures of random birds and trees.
Geneva was really sad when uncle Natey had to leave. She loved her time with him.
Cecily loves to push this toy. She moves quickly through the house. Watch out furniture!
I adore my sweet baby niece. I swear- she has to the most laid-back, easy baby. She smiles all.the.time!
